Aircooling Case Reviews

DEEPCOOL CH560 WH Mid-Tower in test – All-White DeepCool build ensures a white (and cold) Christmas even without snow

With the CH560, DeepCool remains true to its design language and appeals particularly to fans of simple shapes. The highlight: the CH560 “DIGITAL” version with integrated temperature display is available for an extra 10 euros. Read on to find out how the compact case for around 120 euros performs in everyday use.

During the Christmas season, I prefer to build white systems to at least create a little winter atmosphere on the desk when there is usually no snow. in 2021, the Raijintek Silenos MS had to be used for this, last year it was the turn of the Thermaltake Ceres 500 – after some delay. The anticipation was correspondingly great when DeepCool came around the corner with the CH560 for this period and even gave me an all-white build with additional components.

In addition to the four included ARGB fans and the expected good airflow, another feature caught my attention, which is, however, reserved for the 10 euro more expensive “DIGITAL” version of the CH560: a small “display” to show the current CPU temperature. Although the samples with display were all sold out, I can still show you the display in a similar form thanks to the use of the AK620 CPU cooler, which is also available as a “DIGITAL” variant and which Tim already presented to you yesterday. Before I go into the technical details, let’s unpack the case together. And one more note: I’m using the AK620 that I tested yesterday, but in the white version and with a digital display. This also gives you a reference point for the temperatures.

Unboxing

In keeping with the simple design, the outer box of the CH560 also comes without a glamorous appearance.

Here’s the thing. The side window is slightly smaller because around a third of the side section is made of mesh. This not only helps the temperatures, but also accommodates the above-mentioned display in the DIGITAL version.

The front could hardly be simpler: full-surface mesh with a generous grid, so there’s certainly no need to fear suffocation.

As with almost every case of this type today, the entire front of the CH560 can also be removed.

A dust filter is embedded in the front, but this can only be removed by loosening a few screws. Normally, however, it is sufficient to remove the dust regularly with a brush and cloth.

There are four pre-installed 140mm ARGB fans behind the cover, which are relatively quiet and also look good.

While we’re on the subject: The fans are attached to a small bracket that can be separated from the housing with four screws. The use of this bracket is optional, but allows fans or radiators to be mounted more conveniently outside the housing.

At the bottom, apart from the feet and the guides for the sliding HDD cage, we only find a small dust filter that is difficult to remove and clean.

I don’t quite understand why they didn’t at least use a filter that can be pulled out to the rear when there are already guides for one.

The rear is plain and simple, no mounting frame for the power supply unit, no slot bezels for vertical mounting of a graphics card, just a well-ventilated rear of the case.

Next, let’s take a look at the top of the case.

The upper fan mounts are adorned with a magnetic dust filter, which can be easily removed.

The front I/O has also been moved upwards in favor of the airflow. In addition to the power button and a button for the integrated ARGB controller, we find a manageable number of ports. 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB Type-C and a 3.5mm combo jack – that’s it. As I often work with USB sticks or use USB receivers as part of peripheral tests, I would have welcomed more normal USB ports here.

As there are a few more pictures of the unboxing to follow, I’m splitting it into two pages again.

PURE BASE 500DX WHITE.
