Real achievable clock rates and overclocking
The clock rates and readout is arg fancy and time-consuming, so I automated it. I logged in all games this time (WQHD only) and took an average for everything, which I tabulated first:
Map | Average in MHz | Maximum boost in MHz |
AMD Radeon RX 7800XT MBA 16 GB | 2462 | 2546 |
XFX Radeon RX 7800XT MERC 16 GB | 2509 | 2598 |
XFX Radeon RX 7700XT QICK 12 GB | 2604 | 2671 |
Sapphire Radeon RX 7700XT Pulse 12 GB | 2594 | 2662 |
Since the power limits deviate so extremely, I logged the Torture test especially, because you can see the differences best here, also in connection with the temperature. In the gaming runs I test the completely warmed up cards and the coolers are all good.
GPU and memory temperatures in the case
The differences aren’t as big as I feared if you use a proper case. Because in the end, the card doesn’t convert more waste heat than the predecessor models, but even less. This time, I’ll do the word case test with the torture run for maximum heating. The corresponding infrared pictures are under the respective diagram.
