Total costs and conclusion
So there it is, my very own Trident. In theory it is now complete, but in practice a Voron is never finished. Such a creative and active community regularly comes up with new mods, improvements and ideas, which may drive you to tinker again. But we already know this permanently fascinating hobby in the hardware community.
And here again, as promised, is the complete listing of all the items used, including the prices:

In addition to the printer itself, I had to pay 235,31€ for the whole package. That’s at least a rough guide, because it’s up to you to decide what you need. But maybe my list will help you compare prices with other kits, because the scope of delivery differs greatly in some cases. More or less has to be added to the purchase price.
Before I get to what I think of this kit, a few loose thoughts, tips and hints:
- For every printer there is a Voron Github which can be opened in Fusion360 or in the browser with Autodesk Viewer. So you can look at a complete printer in detail and virtually disassemble it.
- Some references in the Fysetc Github for this kit are outdated or contain dead links, the official instructions are to be preferred
- The exemplary wiring as shown by Fysect in pictures should not be copied
- The large enclosed paper plan for the electronics was for the correct motherboard, but for the wrong printer
- The M5x40 screws were a bit too thick and could only be used with a lot of force
- The Voron Discord is the best place for almost everything around the printer
- The Fysetc kit comes with a small PCB for the XY limit switch, which makes building easier
- A jumper for the 24-48V connection on the Spider mainboard was missing
- The two fans for the electronics and the air filter are quite loud at maximum speed, but at 50% PWM the airflow is still sufficient and they are much quieter
- The pulleye / belts are from Gates, so of good quality and durability
- All linear bearing slides are from Fysetc and have medium resistance when sliding, but is still ok.
- The tape included is from 3M and holds very well
- All three fabric cable hoses were longer than necessary and need to be shortened
- The power supply comes from Mean Well and is of high quality
- The illumination of the LCD display is RGB and can be adjusted directly in the web interface
- The aluminum plate is very flat and has heated to 100°C only a maximum deviation of 0.160mm between the highest and lowest point
- The parts from the kit are suitable for the Afterburner hotend setup with the Clockwork extruder, but not for the newer Stealthburner with Clockwork 2
So, in conclusion, what would I say about the Fysetc kit for a Voron Trident 300, did I regret buying it? No, absolutely not. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to improve on the part of the kit manufacturer. The whole thing is a mix of some very good things (Klicky included, XY-PCB, Meanwell power supply), some negative aspects (outdated documentation, wrong cabling, no Stealthburner) and a rest that is somewhere in between. So the whole thing could be improved if you take the criticism to heart. But even so, a really good printer can be made out of the many individual parts i’ve enjoyed using it so far.
And as if you knew it, a big sale started shortly before this article was published, which lowers the price a good bit by combining various discounts and codes.
