I don’t think I was the only one who was a little surprised when Ugreen announced that it would now be offering network storage in addition to power banks, chargers and other small electronics – these markets don’t have much in common, but the advertised specifications are exciting. Ideliberately took my time with a review and now that the flood of initial test reports is over and the software has been improved in many areas, I will share my impressions with you.
Packaging and scope of delivery
Let’s start at the front, or rather the outside. Inside the boring brown shipping box is a much prettier, glossy printed box with the coveted contents.
On its way to us, it is well protected on all sides by a thick layer of foam, which, in combination with the double packaging, should cushion pretty much every bump in the parcel center.
The small, black box contains a high-quality manual in several languages, two network cables, a screwdriver and two keys.
Surprisingly, the power supply unit is not from Ugreen itself as expected, but turns out to be a HuntKey HKA15019079-6C. We already know this brand from our various Mini-PC reviews, where I have never had any problems with these models. Incidentally, the two light blue strips are not chewing gum, but thick thermal pads. We’ll get to those later.
Specifications
The manufacturer does not yet have a proper product page at the time of testing, but there is at least a detailed overview of all the NAS variants presented.
