Summary and conclusion
NZXT launches the H7 Elite, a very elegant case for my taste, which definitely stands out from the rest of the NZXT cases (and not only these). The H7 series is the first version that allows mounting more than just two fans in the lid or even larger radiators. NZXT has learned from the past and has taken on board the criticism from the community and implemented it cleanly.
Now, however, there is also a little bit of criticism. On the one hand, there is the high price of 209.99 Euros. This price is quite steep when you consider what you get in real propeller range. Four fans, but one of them without RGB and also only with 3-pin DC control, don’t really work in this price category for my understanding. Here I would have liked to see at least a PWM fan, because the price for the 3- and 4-pin fan is almost the same. It would have been even better to use the same model as in the front instead of the unlit fan. The workmanship is ok, but not quite what I imagine Elite to be. My empty, just unpacked sample was wobbling on a really straight table, so it was already slightly warped from the factory. Of course, this could be an assembly model, but NZXT should once again adjust the quality assurance here.
Enough complaining, because most of it was really positive. The three new RGB fans, the pre-mounted hub and the cable management are really excellently solved and leave (almost) nothing to be desired. The design with the glass front already looks noble and the material thickness of the sheet metal is completely sufficient. By the way, you won’t find any sharp edges.
My conclusion about the NZXT H7 Elite can be summarized briefly: If you are looking for something elegant and are a fan of NZXT (along with the matching accessories) with the necessary small change, you will certainly be well served with the new H7 series, despite the small criticism. However, if you are planning a custom loop with an H7, you should better go for the Flow version, since this case has mesh instead of glass in the front. You might also have thermal problems with the Elite series. However, if you plan to install an AIO in the lid like I do, you can go for the standard H7 or Elite version.
Oh, and before I forget: If you want to see the entire build as a work of cinematic art, you are welcome to watch the matching YouTube video of the complete assembly at this point. Of course I would be very happy about a subscription, but that usually happens on its own anyway. Here it is:
