We already knew that DLSS works. But what are the details of FSR 2.1 and Frame Generation? This part is interesting because AMD also wants to offer the (currently still Ada-exclusive) feature to users of its own hardware next year. So this first impression is already quite exciting. Let’s take a quick look at Performance vs. Quality in advance:
And now we come to the beams of truth. FSR 2.1 does not offer the best picture with enabled frame generation, but it does offer the longest bars.
The FPS curves are also nicely even again
We already know that the benchmarks weaken in the last 10% without Frame Generation:
The accumulated render times are also completely unsuspicious for now:
The ocher colored hobble bunny is also back. Without FSR 2.1 and with Frame Generation, the curve is a bit more jittery.
Again, we see this in the variances. So that doesn’t take anything away from DLSS either. A perceived tie.
