Variable Overdrive @ 144 Hz fixed Refresh Rate
So now it’s down to the sausage. For 144 Hz, the LG 27GN950 has been able to show its speed, without overshoot so far. The 4.4 ms are easily sufficient. LG could have saved itself the “one millisecond” marketing. But now let’s get down to brass tacks.
Response Times vs. Overshoot @ 120 FPS
Response Times vs. Overshoot @ 100 FPS
Response Times vs. Overshoot @ 80 FPS
Response Times vs. Overshoot @ 60 FPS
That was impressive. Hats off! The 4 ms remain nailed down and overshoot never becomes a real problem. This is what a well-implemented Variable Overdrive looks like. Greetings go out to all monitor manufacturers, I’m not naming names, but everyone knows who still has their homework to do there. LG got it right with the 27GN950…. Attention, who now thinks that this is also the case for the successor 27GP950, is very much mistaken. For whatever reason, LG screwed up a bit there. Don’t you believe me? YouTube –> LG 27GP950 you can already find…
