Technical data
Some of the specifications looked surprisingly familiar to me, and a quick search revealed that they are indeed almost 1:1 the same as those of the Sharkoon B2.
Features
In terms of features, EKSA highlights the same things that are always mentioned in this price range. Metal construction, virtual 7.1 sound, and compatibility with all sorts of devices. However, the USB connection including virtual 7.1 sound can only be used in conjunction with a Windows PC, all other platforms have to fall back on the jack connection.
Volume control and muting the microphone is done directly on the left earpiece. This takes some getting used to and is not as comfortable as a wired remote, but is potentially less of a predetermined breaking point (cable breakage).
Construction and feel
The basic design is the same for the E900 Pro as it has been for almost all manufacturers over the past few years. Adjustable metal earpieces with joints that hold the ear cups in place.
Due to the construction and reinforced by the tight packaging, the ear pads unfortunately arrive in a rather desolate and unsightly condition:
The headband is richly and softly padded.
Of course, the temple is also adjustable in size and offers a decent adjustment range. Here is the smallest setting:
And here completely undressed:
The grille is attached mainly for decorative reasons, as will be seen later. The logo in the center is illuminated in red, RGB is not used at this point.
The connections and the controls are located on the left handset:
Overall, the E900 Pro feels quite good for the market price of 40€. All materials look relatively high quality and apart from a slight creaking noise when pulling the yoke apart, probably caused by the foam padding under the synthetic cover, there are no creaking noises or obvious workmanship flaws. Enclosed, of course, again the instruction manual. However, I could not find the “sound effect switch” and the USB Type-C cable described in the manual anywhere:
