Summary and conclusion
Finally, it remains to summarize and draw a conclusion. Overall, I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the wearing comfort of the E900 Pro and definitely have to mention that I think it’s one of the most comfortable headsets around. Nothing presses or goes numb, and no sticky materials were used. But how long it will really last and what will happen to the plasticizers is anyone’s guess. The Cougar Immersa was based on similar pads and they were cracked and flattened after only one year.
But at the end of the day, that’s no use if you get a headache from the miserable sound instead. EKSA totally failed here and tuned the headset catastrophically (or did not even try to do so). The sound is extremely muffled, there is a massive lack of clarity and resolution – some instruments cannot even be heard with the E900 Pro. However, the microphone is absolutely okay for the price.
Whether the EKSA will ultimately reveal the same miserable long-term qualities as the Cougar Immersa, of course, cannot be said with certainty. But considering the installed components and the many parallels to other headsets from the grab box, you almost have to assume that. Therefore, I can definitely not recommend buying it here at the called price, on the contrary. For 30€ and under the condition that you want to deal with the equalizer, the headset would still be acceptable. Such a conclusion is certainly a shame, because the wearing comfort on the first day is great class and is out of proportion to the abnormal sound.
At the end of the day, my only recommendation is to add another 15€ and go for the Sharkoon SGH50, for example.
