Endurance test in free fall and in the wet biotope
Of course, the S89 Pro easily coped with the classic fall out of the (much too small) trouser pocket onto the ever-present hard concrete floor, and logically also with the fall when getting out of the car. So of course you get braver and test the whole thing from the balcony. Raised first floor, about 2.70 m above keel stone level. My throwing technique is not particularly sophisticated, but the S89 Pro has the skills of a house cat: it always landed on the back, which the well-padded backside does as a buffer in humans, is called battery here. The effect is the same.
And what happens when you get your smartphone really wet? Nothing! I sprayed it with the garden hose and just left it in the soup for a good hour with the display and Spotify playlist turned on. Nothing happened, of course, only the neighbors were slightly surprised. Ok, with the current heat, even such attempts seem rather understandable.
I had then also changed the hose from rainforest to maximum pressure and virtually drove the Doogee on the ground like an annoying mutt in front of me, including a double rollover by the way. Except for a few new small scratches from the sharp-edged stones, however, the patient is still alive. Even IP68 does not provide for a full bath, so I stopped here.
Finally, the S89 Pro was also allowed to take a shower with the kids for 10 minutes – haze and droplet invasion included. There was still dust when drying on the window sill, while in front of the house the asphalt shredder raged. Also one of the reasons why I have renounced videos this time. During the day, it sounds like a quarry with a hammer mill, and I’m glad to be back inside.
