Summary
Let’s briefly summarize what the new iCUE 5000T RGB can and cannot do. Since I actually did not notice any serious design flaws or defects in the test, my criticism is pretty limited. Besides the fact that I would have liked to see 140mm fans mounted in the front and back of a case of this quality, it mainly relates to the price. Yes, the case offers extensive lighting options and both the material quality and the included LL fans are beyond reproach.
I don’t expect a riser for the vertical installation of the graphics card and the equipping of all fan slots, but considering the price, at least an Exhaust fan could have been included. Otherwise, I can only really report good things about the 5000T. The material quality and the features definitely meet the high-end demands, and you can see from the construction and the clever detail solutions that a lot of experience has gone into the development. During the assembly of the components and the taming of the cable spaghetti, every move was quite intuitive and in no situation did I have to think about where I should lay a cable or how I could hide it.
In this respect, the design team has obviously put a lot of thought into it.
Thermal performance and space should not present the buyer with any problems even when mounting the fastest and most expensive hardware, and with a little thought, even an extensive custom loop can be implemented. Basically, no one needs more cases, not including special requirements like a file server with 28 HDDs or similar.
Conclusion
Without a doubt, the iCUE 5000T RGB is an absolutely terrific case that doesn’t allow itself any notable mistakes in the test. The extensive RGB lighting and the well thought-out features show what is technically possible in 2022. With its glamorous appearance, ample space and clever features, Corsair’s new mid-tower spearhead represents an ideal base for absolute high-end machines. Of course, the development and manufacturing of such a beast is expensive and the included LL fans also contribute a part to the overall price. But the bottom line is that a price of a whopping 400€ will probably only appeal to a relatively small target group.
