Technical data
Regarding the technical data, I have, as always, a clear table with all dimensions, features and key data ready.
Many parts of the housing can be removed during assembly and maintenance to facilitate various operations, or to adapt the housing to the conditions. The following exploded view illustrates the flexibility of the 5000T quite well.
Features
Below is a small series of pictures of the case’s features. Almost standard by now, but not always as conveniently designed: The dust filters. On the 5000T, we have a pull-out filter above the generous cutouts for the power supply.
Two more in the easily removable front and hinged right side panel.
And, of course, one under the easy-to-remove lid. There is room for either two 140mm or three 120mm fans (or corresponding radiators) underneath it.
Two of the total of six light bars and the lush front I/O with 4 x USB 3.0 Type A, 1 x USB 3.1 Type C and a TRRS plug for the headset are also found under that lid. Power and reset buttons are of course also present.
Plenty of space for drives: Three 2.5″ SSDs and two 3.5″ HDDs find room in the bottom and on the rear wall of the motherboard tray.
The power supply is mounted on thick rubber to prevent vibration transmission.
Also at the back is the Commander Core XT, which has a lot more up its sleeve in addition to the devices connected during the test.
Sometimes it’s the little things! I am a huge fan of this extremely useful feature, which always makes installing the motherboard a pleasure.
Just like in the lid, there is room for two 140mm or three 120mm (or alternatively corresponding radiators) under the front panel. Pre-assembled are three of the nice and quiet LL fans in the 120mm version.
There is room for a 120mm fan in the rear, but unfortunately it is not included.
Next to the mainboard tray, another three 120mm fans, a corresponding radiator or a so-called distro plate (combination of expansion tank and water pump) can be placed. The entire mount can be removed in a few simple steps, allowing easy installation of the desired components.
As also known from the Corsair 7000D/X among others, the continuous PSU cover can be adapted to the corresponding configuration with the included bezels. If a thick radiator or a push/pull solution is to be mounted in the front, the alternative covers can be used to create more space for it.
The strap on the front can also be removed quickly and easily.
This way, a radiator including fans can be conveniently mounted and then simply hung and fixed into the case as a cohesive unit. I think it’s a bit of a shame that the 5000T wasn’t allowed a few millimeters more overall height, because then three 140mm fans or a corresponding 420mm radiator could have been mounted here.
If a radiator, fan or distro plate is to be installed next to the mainboard tray, the cover above the cable shaft must of course give way.
