iCUE Software
For the control of the extensive lighting, fans, pump, etc., the 5000T again uses the namesake iCUE software. Since this software was always torn apart in the comments during the last reviews, I would like to at least break a small lance for Corsair at this point. Because even though the software is really huge and swallows up an incredible amount of resources, it’s also very convenient to control the entire Corsair ecosystem with a single piece of software. And in fact, it all works fine for me – the software runs stably and does what it’s supposed to.
As already known, we get an overview of the connected Corsair devices and the readout sensor data when we start the software.
We will only limit ourselves to the configuration of the case and the corresponding functions in this review. If the 5000T is selected, we end up in the overview for the lighting setup.
In the review, the three pre-installed LL fans were connected (4-pin)
And additionally three ML Pro fans from the AIO, which were also connected to the 4-pin connectors of the Commander Core XT controller. While the LL fans have LEDs in the hub and ring, the ML Pros have LEDs “only” in the hub. For lighting, here too, countless types are available in every imaginable color.
The star of the show are of course the six RGB strips around the case. Each of them can be configured separately and assigned multiple lighting layers.
The familiar options are available for fan control. In addition to various presets, you can also assign your own fan curves or fixed values to have each individual fan fully under control in every situation. I always approach this quite conservatively and simply run my fans at the speed necessary to not cause heat buildup.
The last menu item “Device settings” is quite straightforward and is mainly used to set the illumination brightness. If you want to turn this control up fully, I recommend wearing sunglasses in the immediate vicinity of the case.
RGB Gallery
Finally, a few impressions of how different color schemes affect the overall look. From monochrome to brightly colored to rainbow vomit, anything is possible.
