You can’t get enough of RGB lighting and are looking for a new top class case? Then the new Corsair 5000T could be the fulfillment of your dreams. The case comes with more than 200 LEDs, and I can already tell you that it is absolutely convincing from a technical point of view. However, you can read more about the small catch in the test.
After the launch of the rather functional and practical 5000D/X series last year, Corsair now follows up with an impressive eye-catcher in the form of the new iCUE 5000T case. A whopping 160 RGB LEDs, divided among six light strips, adorn six of the eight edges of the spacious but not oversized mid-tower. But they are not satisfied with that and also pack three of the beautiful LL fans into the front as standard, which brings the total to 208 LEDs. Of course, this also requires a powerful controller, which is supplied here in the form of the Commander Core XT. Despite the excessive lighting, Corsair has fortunately not lost sight of the other important aspects. Thoughtful and spacious design, clever features and good airflow make the 5000T a serious contender for the case throne.
Small teaser: The next few days there will be a follow-up article. Corsair also introduces the LC100 Mini RGB panels at the same time as the 5000T case, which we will upgrade soon.
Unboxing
I’ll shorten the unboxing a bit today and add more pictures on the next page (when I introduce the features). In principle, the unboxing is not so exciting, but somehow it is part of a review. In terms of packaging, not too much leeway is to be expected with such a case. Thus, the 5000T also comes in a plain cardboard box.
Freed from the sturdy protective material, the case still looks quite “normal”. However, that will change significantly later when you turn it on, I can reveal at this point.
At the front, you can see the three LL fans shining through, while there are many openings at the rear where warm air can escape.
Both side panels are equipped with solid hinges, which provides quick and convenient access.
All inlets are equipped with dust filters and can be removed in no time.
The interior offers plenty of space and openings in all the right places. The paint/coating is also applied absolutely evenly.
There is also plenty of room behind the scenes. Considering that no hardware has been installed yet, you can already guess what kind of cable tangle will arise later on.
The only accessories included are a handful of screws and cable ties, a few Velcro straps and two different covers for the power supply. A GPU support bracket (aka graphics card support) or even a riser for vertical mounting of the graphics card is unfortunately missing.
