NVIDIA Reflex + Boost vs Framelimiter
Hello NVIDIA, can we agree on a draw?
I would like to emphasize again that I do not want to diminish the performance of NVIDIA or the game developers in any way. On the contrary, I take my hat off to it! One click in the menu and I’m easily out of the GPU limit.
Hours of experimentation with the IGFL are a thing of the past in this particular case. Ok, if you are currently gaming in 1080p with such a GPU (RTX 3080 / 3090 or RX 6800XT / 6900XT), the GPU limit issue doesn’t really exist. Here you have to find the fastest CPU and push the Ram to the absolute maximum! And important: If you really value the best latencies, you can’t get around a 240 or 360 Hz monitor! As you can see, the difference between 75 Hz and 240 Hz is about 20 ms.. That’s a lot of wood!
Still, the topic of frame limiters is interesting because not everyone has an NVIDIA graphics card. Also, the list of supported games regarding NVIDIA Reflex is still quite clear! So the only option left for the gamer here is to deal with the topic of IGFL or frame limiters in general. Attention all AMD graphics card owners: Radeon Boost has yet to show what it can really do! Oh, it’s true that not all games support it.. Hmm, we’re back to the topic of frame limiters. Here I noticed an interesting fact in all the measurements, which we will now take a closer look at. So please turn the page!
