FPS and latency comparison: RTX 3080 Ti vs. RTX 4090 (DLSS 2.3)

Latency comparison with DLSS 2.3 and Reflex on
RTX 4090 wins. This was clear, but only if DLSS 3.0 is not active. Better frame times = lower latency in general and in GPU limit Reflex does the rest.

Now you can see where the RTX 4090 natively enters with Frame Generation: namely very close behind the RTX 3080 Ti with DLSS Ultra Performance. Hats off! What comes next already borders on humiliation of the own little sister…
Latency comparison with DLSS 2.3, Reflex on vs. DLSS 3.0, FG on
The RTX 4090 with DLSS 3.0, brings the FPS progress – no question. The RTX 4090 is at least on par with the RTX 3080 Ti with DLSS 2.3 in terms of latency (with DLSS 3.0). The new RTX generation is thus – compared to the predecessor – not a step backwards. I already said that the latencies with DLSS 3.0 are basically not bad. Nevertheless: RTX 4000 can – without frame generation – generate even lower latencies! In the end, the customer is spoiled for choice.
We’ll take a quick look at the image quality of DLSS 3.0 and see if anything has changed compared to DLSS 2.3.
