In Ultra HD, the CPU limitation finally tends towards zero, although the GeForce RTX 4080 Non-Super was already quite suitable for Ultra HD. The new Super version has significantly more processing units, but will you really notice that?
Sum of all games in 2160p
I normalized the FPS and percentiles again and formed a geometric mean (geomean) because this is simply more accurate from a statistical point of view and is also used in the industry. And yes, something is happening, just not very much:
In Ultra HD, it is now 3 percent ahead of the non-super. However, if you factor out Assassin’s Creed Mirage or run the old Non Super with the same driver, the performance is reduced to just under 2.5 percent more.
With P1, i.e. the min FPS, the Super card has a good 3 percent advantage, which shrinks to around 2.6 percent if you compensate for the driver advantage.
Once again, impressive proof of how economical the large cards can be. However, the card now requires a good 13 watts more for around 2.5 percent more graphics performance. Nevertheless, the card is still significantly more efficient overall than the large RDNA3 cards, even if it doesn’t quite come close to the non-super card. But at least almost.
