Low-Budget Gaming PC 2020 – What do you get for 400 Euros? | Part 1 – Compilation

Housing – what you need and what you want to spend

After I had set the platform, a housing had to be selected to accommodate all the parts. First of all, it is important to be aware of the form factor or what size you want. Tower, Cube or anything else? Then it's about the connectors and the expansion slots you need. Older high-end is often easy to acquire, but important details such as USB 3.x are often missing at the front and the like. And then also graphics card, motherboard, cooler and power supply have to fit in. So it is an almost recursive story in which there are interdependencies.

In my immediate vicinity I did not find what I was looking for on the second-hand market, so I looked for new housings. I think that for a few years now, the optics of a computer have also played an increasingly important role. So I sorted the offered housings in ascending order and took a closer look at those that were most likely to have promised me visually. The raijintek Arcadia II was chosen. Cheap price, appealing optics, magnetic dust filters, PSU shroud and even engineered in Germany – I just had to form an opinion. In the end, the case really convinced me in view of the price – especially the front in the look of brushed metal and the small details (many tabs for cable management, many fans mountable) I really liked.

The size must be designed in such a way that everything can be installed well on the one hand and that on the other hand no thermal problems arise. It may look good, of course.

Connections are always needed and so you will quickly notice the compromises that manufacturers have to make for a reasonable price. Whether one can and wants to live with it, everyone has to decide for himself. By the way, you can turn it and turn it as you like, the price always stays in the back of your mind.
