Gaming performance summary in 720p
Well, 720p, I guess it has to be. Since I’m tired of having to discuss settings and resolutions all the time, I simply did all four this time, i.e. from mouse cinema all the way to ultra HD. And that’s why I’ll now start with the smallest resolution, which is so often recommended for CPU tests. And you can already see that two CPUs can really set themselves apart here. Since I deliberately did not follow AMD’s selection, I am quite satisfied with the accumulation of my results.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is de facto on par with the Ryzen 9 7950X3D (within possible measurement tolerances) and here at least 6.9 percentage points ahead of the Core i9-13900K, an unbelievable 26.9 percentage points ahead of the Ryzen 7 7700X without cache and still 18.6 percentage points ahead of the direct X3D predecessor Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which once again does very respectably. The irrelevant Core i9-13900KS, of which I still had a copy here, would reduce the Ryzen 7 7800X3D’s lead by a whole 1.4 to 1.5 percentage points, so I did without it right away. It wouldn’t do any good, and apart from more energy, it would hardly release any real added value. However, the average FPS is only one side of the coin.
The output at the P1, i.e. the new Min FPS, is more interesting. Here, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D is on par with the Core i9-13900K, while the new Ryzen 7 7800X3D still has to rank behind the Core i7-13700K and loses a lot of ground. This behavior was already very noticeable in the Ryzen 7 5800X3D at the time.
