Optics, feel and wearing comfort
The headset is plain black with some dark silver accents, so it should be able to blend in well with just about any setup visually. With three holes, the band, which rests on the head, can be adjusted slightly. Beyond that, however, the ear cups can still be pulled out of the headband steplessly.
On the left side are all inputs and outputs and the control for volume as well as a mute button.
Interestingly, you can remove the cover of the ear cups, which is in fact only held magnetically. This makes the Arctis Nova Pro a bit sleeker again, although the imprint from the injection mold of the plastic does not look particularly pretty now.
The Clearcast microphone can be retracted or extended when needed, for example, if you want to use the headset as regular headphones on the go. Particularly pliable, by the way, is also, but then remains in place.
The Arctis Nova Pro might be a bit small for larger-than-average ears; with ~61 x 48 mm of space for the eardrums, it’s more in the mid-range.
Comfortable pads with a faux leather exterior, but extended wear may require airing through from time to time. What may have already been noticed in the pictures: Quite a lot of plastic, you are used to something else in this price range – and you can expect it! The GameDAC Gen 2, on the other hand, feels very high-quality, especially the volume wheel has a great feel when turning it. Very gently, you can feel the individual steps, but the turning itself is “smooth”.
