The latest headset from Steelseries has a lot of PR firepower, so we didn’t miss the opportunity to see if you can not only hear the great tones from the headset yourself, but also objectively prove them. The following article will tell you how the wired version of the Arctis Nova Pro with the included DAC performed in the test and what of the promises ultimately held up in reality.
Packaging and scope of delivery
First of all, I’m not quite sure if I got a special press edition here or if every headset comes in this form. I have not received a reply to my inquiry to the manufacturer by the time this article is published.
Since I couldn’t find the artbook or the handwritten message on a card with the inscription “First Edition” in the few other reviews of this headset, my copy seems to be one of the first.
The goodies aside inside the fancy box, the headset is protected by a cardboard tray and a stuff sack. There is also another layer of foam rubber on the top. Overall, at this point already very little disposable plastic, very commendable!
The scope of delivery includes the headset, the cloth case, two USB Type-A to USB Type-C cables, and an AUX cable with a 45° angle on one side. Both USB cables have a length of 1.5 meters, while the audio cable is 1.2 meters long. There is also a sponge-like pop protector to cover the integrated microphone.
A highlight is of course the included “GameDAC Gen 2”, to which two devices can be connected via USB. In addition, there are 1x line-in, 1x line-out.
The display on the front resolves in a simple black and white representation and is easy to read.
