Let’s start with the normal monitor arm in simple design. We already had the box, so now I can feed you with the accessories and the technical data. Since the assembly of both products is very similar, I will summarize this later on a common page. Redundancy is boring. The packaging is functional and relies mainly on recycled cardboard.
The accessories are practical and you still have to do a few things. Only the actual arm is pre-assembled. In addition, there is the mounting kit for the tabletop or worktop (angle bracket and brackets still have to be mounted by the user) including metal parts and screws, as well as the VESA kits for monitor mounting (75 or 100 mm) in two versions (direct mounting or with spacers). For those who don’t like to handle their own bits, two matching Allen wrenches are included.
By the way, the somewhat higher price is noticeable in the foot holder, because on the one hand the rubber pad for the table surface is really good and practical, and on the other hand the counterpart for screwing it under the table is not just a small, round plate like in the inexpensive models, but much larger because it is elongated. A larger contact surface reduces the pressure (dents in soft real wood or risk of splintering in glass). Here, however, I would have liked to see another soft coating, which is unfortunately missing. Tip: I generally take leather strips for something like this, which I cut to fit: the untreated, undyed side always comes to the table surface.
However, the required Phillips screwdriver for the VESA mount should not be missing in any household. If you do, please repurchase quickly. You need it every now and then and it doesn’t cost the earth (joke). The base also hides a few connection cables. The sense or nonsense of such a panel is certainly debatable, but a USB port including cable, as well as HD audio with output and input complete the monitor arm and could definitely be helpful. By the way, this is also a small cost driver, because USB 3.0 has to be licensed.
