It’s over 7000! – Teamgroup DELTA RGB DDR5-6400 CL40 2 x 16GB kit Review with Overclocking and Teardown

Summary and conclusion

Since Teamgroup already offered one of the fastest modules to date with their DELTA 6400 Mbps modules almost from the beginning of the DDR5 era, I approached this test with particular curiosity. At this point also a big thank you to Teamgroup for providing the pre-selected kit! However, the selection would probably not have been necessary or we were particularly lucky with our retail comparison kit, since it can also be operated stably on the same tested configurations.

DDR5-7000 at primary timings 32-41-42-28 runs stably with the Teamgroup DELTA modules, albeit at 1.55 V and with active cooling. No other kit in our tests has managed to reach such high clock rates stably so far, and the performance really matches it. First places in almost all test benchmarks, no matter if synthetic or gaming, over 110 GB/s in the AIDA write test and over 14000 points in the GB3 memory are all sound barriers that Teamgroup’s modules from today’s test broke through almost with ease.

Mind you, this is despite the fact that the modules are a relatively old design with an 8-layer PCB. How high will the clock potential of the successor product be then? Of course, the memory ICs play the main role for the RAM performance and here Teamgroup naturally uses 16 Gbit M-Die modules from SK Hynix, whereby these are additionally selected for the DDR5-6400, apparently even if you buy them in normal shops, as is the case with our white modules.

Teamgroup doesn’t do anything wrong with the DDR5 DELTA RGB on the outside either. The design is refreshingly different, exciting but not cheesy. The RGB lighting is powerful, yet elegantly integrated into the rest of the module’s design and can of course be color-adjusted as desired. But even if you completely deactivate the illumination, the modules are a real beauty from all angles in almost every system, and each XMP variant is also available in black and white.

You still have to spend around 400 Euros for the DDR5-6400 SKUs even after the end of the DDR5 shortage. This is not really cheap, but it is quite reasonable considering the performance in XMP mode and the additional OC potential you get in return. The only small point of criticism is the relatively high temperatures without active cooling. A somewhat beefier cooler would do the modules good here and thus also increase OC potential. At this point in time, Teamgroup’s DELTA RGB DDR5-6400 modules are a clear recommendation for enthusiasts looking for absolute top performance – provided that you have the motherboard and CPU to match them, of course.

Netter Test.
Von dem was ich sehe, ist das übertakten des RAMs als gamer in der Praxis die Kopfschmerzen nicht wirklich wert.

Geht schonmal in die richtige Richtung. Sehr geil. :)
Hoffe mal es gibt ein paar 2x32GB Kits die >=7000 CL32 schaffen, wenn die 2. Generation von AM5 draussen ist.
