It’s over 7000! – Teamgroup DELTA RGB DDR5-6400 CL40 2 x 16GB kit Review with Overclocking and Teardown

Gaming Benchmarks

As always, an RTX 3090 Founders Edition from Nvidia is used for the gaming tests, with maximized temperature and power consumption limits, for the lowest possible GPU bottleneck. The performance data is recorded with Nvidia Frameview 1.2, based on the open-source software Presentmon. Like last time, there are again three relatively different game titles, Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) as an example of a more latency-sensitive title, Cyberpunk 2077 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider with a balanced preference and a slight preference for bandwidth, respectively. Cyberpunk has recently received a larger patch, but since the performance has decreased overall and also for better comparability, we are still testing with version 1.31.

In gaming at 1440p, even an RTX 3090 is pretty much always the bottleneck in the render pipeline. Accordingly, the gains in RAM are at best measurable here, but probably never noticeable. While the Teamgroup DELTA kit with XMP profile is somewhere in the midfield, the manually optimized configurations usually make it to the front, even if only by a few frames. The exception is Shadow of the Tomb Raider where effectively all DDR5 kits are within the measurement tolerance.

The test field is also very mixed in terms of frame time variances, with the exception of CSGO where the faster DDR5 configurations tend to have a slight advantage.

In 1080p, greater influences of CPU and RAM are known to show up, although the differences only amount to single-digit percentage points in extreme cases here as well. The manually optimized DDR5 configurations are always right in front here, followed by the DELTA modules in XMP and the Corsair Dominator modules in XMP with slightly lower latency. In CSGO, the DDR4 configuration can be added in front as usual, but DDR5 is already noticeably faster with manual tuning.

The Teamgroup DELTA modules are always at the top of the list in terms of frame time variance, although most configurations with XMP can still keep up to some extent. While Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Cyberpunk 2077 are effectively just a reflection of the average FPS, CSGO does show significant differences in frame times over 4 ms. In competitive gaming, where it is not uncommon to use even lower resolutions, fast, tuned RAM like the Teamgroup DELTA DDR5 modules provides the final advantage in competition.

Netter Test.
Von dem was ich sehe, ist das übertakten des RAMs als gamer in der Praxis die Kopfschmerzen nicht wirklich wert.

Geht schonmal in die richtige Richtung. Sehr geil. :)
Hoffe mal es gibt ein paar 2x32GB Kits die >=7000 CL32 schaffen, wenn die 2. Generation von AM5 draussen ist.
