Conclusion
I really liked the Glorious GMMK 2 overall. I’m generally not a fan of small keyboards or the associated custom layouts, but this model at least only features a modified ISO layout with a large Enter key. The layout of the POS1/Home key is somewhat unfortunate, as it can only be accessed via a key combination (FN key). When typing texts, you need them from time to time – especially if you want to change sentences afterwards.
From a technical point of view, however, there is even less to complain about. The keyboard is cleanly manufactured and makes a very stable and high-quality impression with a combat weight of about 900 grams. The new FOX switches can be operated very smoothly and are relatively quiet, which is not fully appreciated because of the installed ABS keycaps. The flicker-free lighting can be controlled extensively without software, and those who enjoy the subject matter will be pleased with the extensive customization options and full compatibility with the open-source QMK firmware.
The price-performance ratio of the GMMK 2 is similar to that of the recently tested Everest 60. Both keyboards are on a similar level in terms of quality. The 10€ more expensive Mountain keyboard shines with a slightly more elegant look, PBT keycaps and the option of a dockable numpad, while the Glorious offers the more intuitive layout, the even smoother FOX switches and is even 10€ cheaper. Definitely worth a look for LAN party fans and customizers!
