Technical data and features
Now that the haptics have been sufficiently evaluated, let’s turn our attention to the technical details and features.
The lightweight SABRE RGB PRO Wireless is not lacking in features either. I don’t have much experience with wireless mice, but just thinking about a battery makes me wonder how Corsair packs all that into a mouse that weighs only 79 grams.
As usual, this wireless input device also features CORSAIR ‘s proprietary SLIPSTREAM</x-1> technology, which enables ultra-fast transfer speeds with runtimes of less than one millisecond. Due to this fast signal transmission a sampling rate of 2000 Hz is possible.
The CORSAIR MARKSMAN optical sensor has 26,000 DPI and can be freely adjusted in increments of 1. With 650 instructions per second and the ability to handle accelerations up to 50G, it has extremely high accuracy.
The two main buttons are equipped with durable OMRON SWITCHES and Corsair calls the design QUICKSTRIKE BUTTONS, as you can see the buttons are connected to the mouse buttons by a spring. This is to ensure a direct triggering of the buttons and at least the lack of key play is immediately noticeable, you have the feeling of pressing the button directly. Furthermore, all seven buttons can be freely assigned via iCUE software.
Of course, the mouse is particularly flexible due to its two built-in receivers. This allows the Sabre to connect not only to the proprietary SLIPSTREAM transmitter, but also to any Bluetooth enabled device. In no time, I had the mouse paired with my smartphone or old Thinkpad without having to use the included adapter.
The permanently installed lithium polymer battery allows the mouse to be used for days. Corsair promises 60 hours with SLIPSTREAM and even 90 hours with Bluetooth connection – both determined with deactivated illumination. With a fully charged battery, the charge level jumped from “High” to “Medium” after a test period of 25 hours (with the light activated and the energy-saving mode deactivated), where it was still after about 35 hours! I therefore consider the information from the manufacturer to be well adhered to.
Furthermore, the mouse has an internal memory that can store settings for lighting, macros, and DPI increments, so the mouse can be connected to other systems and provide the desired settings without software or configuration.
