Conclusion
With the K70 RGB Pro, Corsair has undoubtedly managed a hell of an upgrade. Compared to the MK1, the keyboard feels much higher quality and has only undergone minor improvements visually. You can definitely still identify it as a K70. I find the omission of the USB port, which fell victim to the replaceable USB-C cable, and the fact that Corsair still does not have the “springy” sound of the MX Red switches completely under control a bit unfortunate. However, that is indeed complaining on a very high level and not really a criticism.
The easy-grip PBT keycaps and plain font are a welcome detail improvement and make the new K70 look more grown-up and serious. Personally, I don’t find it bad at all when an input device doesn’t immediately scream “G4MING!!1”, but it still provides the corresponding functions under the hood. in terms of price, however, the keyboard is already in the upper segment with an MSRP of just under 200€, and it better deliver exactly what it showed in the test, regardless of the included PBT keycaps.
All in all, the K70 RGB Pro is one of the best (gaming) keyboards on the market for me and I could not find a single point of criticism during the test that could stand in the way of a purchase recommendation. In terms of price-performance, it certainly falls a bit short, but in terms of performance and workmanship, it definitely plays right at the top.
