Technical data
As usual, there is again the obligatory table to marvel at in the first place.
Features
Before we get to the internal refinements of the K70 RGB Pro, I want to quickly show some mechanical details. As the topic of cable management becomes more and more relevant, Corsair has equipped the new version of the K70 with a clever cable routing system. This allows you to pass the mouse and/or headset cable neatly under the keyboard, for example.
The rear feet can be folded out in two stages, making the angle extremely flexible to the user’s preferences.
The large rubber pads give the keyboard an absolutely secure grip. Even on a desk pad nothing is guaranteed to slip.
The palm rest is made of plastic. Despite the lack of padding, the textured soft-touch surface feels very comfortable.
The whole thing is held by a strong magnet system, which sits more securely than any other magnet solution I’ve had in my fingers.
Features under the hood
The following features distinguish the new K70 RGB Pro.
The Legend Continues: The K70 RGB Pro continues to rely on the iconic aluminum frame, which already gave the first K70 high stability and a long life. In addition to the familiar features like the Cherry MX switches and the Tournament Switch, the new version adds high-quality PBT keycaps and AXON technology.
Corsair AXON Hyper-Processing Technology: AXON is said to take the K70 to a new level, providing up to 8x faster implementation and transmission of inputs. 8000Hz hyper-polling, 4000Hz key scanning and 20 layers for RGB lighting are just the tip of the iceberg. Below is a small table of how the high polling rate affects the average input delay and the advantages AXON offers.
The features are summarized in the short overview:
- 100% Cherry MX Switches
- PBT Double-Shot Keycaps
- Tournament Switch and Win-Lock button
- Removable USB Type-C cable
- Magnetic palm rest with soft touch surface
- Dedicated media buttons and volume roller
- Onboard macro recording
- Up to 50 onboard profiles with up to 20 lighting effects
- Full N-Key rollover and 100% anti-ghosting
- Full iCUE support for almost endless profiles
Overview instead of instructions
Since no user manual was available at the time of the test, I can only serve with a small overview today.
