Corsair 7000D Airflow Review – elegance and function on a grand scale

Scope of delivery

In addition to the well-padded case and the comprehensive manual, the huge box also contains a cover for shortening the lower chamber and a small box with all kinds of screws and connecting elements for cable management.

Furthermore, a slot bracket for the vertical installation of air-cooled graphics cards is included, which allows a much larger distance between the cooler and the side panel, resulting in a significantly better cooling performance.

Quality impression and detailed solutions

In the first hands-on test, the 7000D immediately shows itself from its best side and inspires with high weight, good workmanship and material strengths that immediately radiate robustness.

The tower also comes up with many clever features in detail. The front and lid can be removed by pulling firmly, and a dust filter can be found directly underneath. The triangular cutouts will prove to be extremely effective in the course of the article and should therefore have a significant share in the eponymous airflow.

The solid swinging doors (glass on the left, sheet steel on the right) can be unhinged, whereby accidental removal, e.g. during transport, is safely prevented by a screw.

The power supply cover, or the lower chamber, can be adapted to the respective requirements with the enclosed cover. If a very thick radiator or a push-pull configuration is to be installed, the chamber can simply be shortened.

The bezel behind the CPU serves as a receptacle for an HDD/SSD and can be removed if necessary to ensure access to the backplate when replacing the CPU cooler.

The well-equipped front panel also leaves little to be desired.

Further details like the removable radiator carrier or the RapidRoute cable management will be tested directly in the following installation report.
