Now let’s get to the final furioso of the whole story and tie our poor test setup around a tree stump. It must be prefaced by the fact that this is a cordoned off private area and both the firearms license and the firearm are perfectly legal to possess. We can also reassure pacifists, because so far no shooting permits are needed for pump tubes, not even for the very rare Red Caligarum shot here. All this is powered by a sufficiently strong 5 volt power bank.
Shooting is done with standard buckshot. That is easily enough to completely perforate the quite stable hose (with textile insert!). You just have to hit it.
Here is one still from the slow motion. You will also be able to admire it later in the video with even more detail. We did not want to place the camera closer because of the possible scattering. What you can see, however, are the impacts of the bullets and the splintering pieces of wood.
What does the LEAKSHIELD say? The alarm beeps, the LEDs warn and the water is still completely inside! You can hardly demonstrate it better, because who shoots at his favorite PC?
The final look at the hose also shows that there is no leakage as long as the vacuum pump is actively supplied with power. We can see the shot marks and material torn out of the inside of the hose, but we can’t see any water. That stays in the system!
