Driver problems
In case of driver problems, the device manager shows small yellow warning triangles next to the device icons. However, one should not get confused. Some symbols have some yellow in the icon. As here in the picture is the normal representation and no warning triangles. With a right click you get to the properties of a device.
“Update Driver”
In case of problems, it is worth updating the drivers. You can let Windows search for new drivers automatically.
When you disable a device, the currently used driver is disabled. If you then restart the PC, Windows finds a device without a driver and automatically searches for a suitable driver.
After making changes to the drivers, you should restart the PC. Then Windows loads the new drivers and you see if they work.
Latest drivers from manufacturer website
You are often more successful if you search for a new driver directly on the manufacturer’s page of the component. The latest drivers can be found there.
The graphics card drivers can be found on the Nvidia or AMD website.
On the motherboard manufacturer’s website you can find drivers for various components on the motherboard.
Besides that, you can also find some tools with which you can speed up your PC a bit. These tools can sometimes cause problems with peripheral devices. You have to try out which ones work well. The others are better uninstalled.
With very old components, it can also happen that you can no longer find the drivers on the manufacturer’s website. Then there are Internet sites that offer all sorts of drivers for download. Somewhere you will usually find what you are looking for if you search for the exact component designation.
“Device Conflict”
Sometimes address conflicts occur due to the many devices that were once connected. The device manager shows these conflicts in the “Resources” tab and helps you to resolve them.
You can display all devices that are currently not in use and uninstall the corresponding drivers. This frees up address ranges that can then be used for other devices.
