It has been known for some time that AMD will be launching its Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F in the DIY segment. Thanks to a tip from the leaker momomo_US, a worldwide release is probably also in the starting blocks. The AMD Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F are the latest APUs that fit into AMD’s AM5 socket. They are based on the Zen 4 architecture and come without an integrated iGPU. However, there are a few things to bear in mind.

Let’s start with the technical specifications. The AMD Ryzen 7 8700F APU is based on an 8-core and 16-thread configuration, as previously mentioned, with the Zen 4 architecture. The base clock is 4.1 GHz and can increase to a boost clock of 5.0 GHz. A slightly weaker configuration is expected for the AMD Ryzen 5 8400. This comes to the customer with 6 cores and 12 threads. The base clock is 4.2 GHz, which can be boosted to 4.7 GHz.
Until now, the CPUs have only been available in China. However, the same can now be expected for the rest of the world. Here, a Canadian retailer lists the new CPUs, which come as a Wraith Stealth Box. This means that a Wraith Stealth cooler is included. It offers the following prices:
- Ryzen 7 8700F (100-100001590BOX) 752.99 CAD
- Ryzen 5 8400F (100-100001591BOX) 481.99 CAD

However, if you prefer to use a European dealer instead of having something exported here from Canada, you can do so at the Slovenian dealer Funtech. They also offer these processors for sale.
- Ryzen 7 8700F (100-100001590BOX): 309.90 Euro
- Ryzen 5 8400F (100-100001591BOX): 199.90 Euro

However, it should be noted that these are not final prices and are only provisional. Customers can therefore also expect a price reduction, which will also be good for the wallet.
