Conclusion
Sharkoon has done it again! Without major sacrifices, but with a considerably lower price, the SGK50 S4 puts a thoroughly competitive compact keyboard on the shelves. The red pencil has obviously been applied in the right places so that the customer does not end up with an inferior product despite the low price. Of course, a competitor product twice as expensive with a brushed aluminum cover and much better insulation seems a bit higher quality, but there are no crane noises on the SGK50 S4 either – even if you try to twist the keyboard in itself with all your might.
The circumstances associated with the format are difficult and definitely a matter of getting used to, but the market for small keyboards is growing rapidly and those who absolutely want something like this will just have to get used to the somewhat awkward handling. Don’t misunderstand: this is not a problem with the Sharkoon keyboard, but concerns all keyboards of this format.
For a small price, the SGK50 S4 offers a lot of keyboard for the money and because of the low price, it should also be a very attractive choice as a basis for custom conversions.
