Benchmarks – XMP
In the benchmarks, the new Micron ICs can show what they can really do in terms of performance. Here the kits are rather in the midfield, whereby the 7000 SKU is of course a bit further ahead than the 5600 variant. The only exception is Pyprime 2.0, where the fastest kit with XMP profile and Auto Subtimings is at the bottom of our chart. This shows once again: Clock speed alone is not everything, the timings also have to fit in proportion.
And even in the particularly bandwidth-intensive tests, such as y-cruncher 2.5b or the AIDA64 read, write and copy tests, the 7000 SKU is partly overtaken by DDR5-6800 or 6400 kits with Hynix ICs. The 5600 Vengeance sticks are accordingly a bit further behind and actually only consistently beat Micron’s 16 Gbit RevA DDR5 predecessor and of course the DDR4 reference Config, except in latency-sensitive tests.
