Summary and conclusion
It really is and remains an exciting card, and it also shows very impressively what is technically possible if you can afford a diet cure for a graphics card of the current chip generation. Because one thing is also clear: No entry-level chip has been installed here, but a card that is faster than a GeForce GTX 560 Ti in all aspects. However, the limits of the very flat design quickly reveal themselves, and despite all enthusiasm, you will have to very honestly question whether this design can really meet your own requirement profile for acoustic reasons.
Despite the limitations just mentioned, we find this card interesting, probably also because of its uniqueness. It’s good to see a solution that stands out from the ubiquitous uniformity now and then, which can be the only feasible solution for some special cases. That’s why we have given this card an Approved Award in all our individual tests of the Radeon HD 7800 series, because the technical implementation as such is very well done.
We don’t want to give a purchase recommendation in the form of a direct purchase tip award due to the current unavailability in Germany, but we do want to give a verbal recommendation for fans of extremely flat cards. If you would like to import this card from a neighboring European country, you will find links to AFOX’s partner stores below. Otherwise it will take a few more weeks until the distribution is established in Germany.
