The Strix Halo APU is based on a chiplet design with up to three This shows Olrak_29 on X, two CCDs (Core Chiplets) and one GCD (Graphics Chiplet). This enables flexible configuration and scalable performance. The CCDs offer up to 16 Zen 5 cores with 32 threads and up to 64 MB L3 cache, while the GCD houses the RDNA 3 graphics architecture with up to 40 compute units and 32 MB MALL cache.

The Zen 5 cores deliver the latest CPU architecture from AMD and promise significant performance improvements over the previous generation. The RDNA 3 graphics also offers enormous graphics performance that can handle even demanding games and applications with ease. The Strix Halo is equipped with an integrated XDNA 2 AI engine that delivers up to 70 TOPs of AI performance. This enables the acceleration of AI applications such as machine learning and image processing.
The APU supports LPDDR5x-8000 memory with 256-bit memory bus, which ensures high bandwidth and smooth gameplay. The Strix Halo offers a variety of connectivity options, including up to 16 PCIe Gen 4 lanes, eDP (DP2.1 HBR3), external DP (DP2.1 UHBR10), USB4 Alt-DP (DP2.1 UHBR10) and USBC Alt-DP (DP2.1 UHBR10). The AMD Strix Halo APU is expected to be launched in the second half of 2024.
The Strix Halo is expected to take the performance of high-end laptops to a new level and impress enthusiasts and professional users alike.
