Summary and conclusion
With 18.4 liters, the HYTE Revolt 3 is clearly at the upper end of the “small” ITX cases. However, the available space is used well and even offers support for triple slot graphics cards as well as a 3.5″ HDD, both rather rare in this form factor. There are no flaws in the workmanship, but that is to be expected at this price.
And there is already the keyword, the price. As mentioned at the beginning, I would see the similar NZXT H1 in the larger V2 2022 variant as a direct competitor, which is just under 400€ at the time of the review. The 2021 model is available for just under 300€. It is smaller, has no fan, a weaker power supply and above all no PCIe 4.0 riser cable but a PCIe 3.0 riser.
However, it should be said that the power supply installed there offers another 50 watts of power, has a REAL 80Plus Gold certification and also comes with an already installed AiO water cooling. I don’t count the included PCIe 4.0 riser, since it is necessary for operation due to the H1’s design.
The price difference is considerable, since the Revolt 3 was already on sale for 199€ in the variant with power supply. Not bad, considering that a 700 Watt SFX power supply alone costs 90-120€. If you already have a suitable power supply, the Revolt 3 can also be bought cheaper without a power supply in contrast to the NZXT H1.
All in all, this is a really strong start into the HYTE market, and the Revolt 3 could convince in my test. If you like the “cheese grater” look and can overlook the issue with the power supply certificate, you will get a really good offer here.
