The preparations
Before you can even start bending tubes, you need to assemble the PC as such. In other words, you build everything into the housing! The first thing to do is to pre-assemble the motherboard, fans, radiators, power supply with the required cables, and in our case, the Iceball and RTX 3080 FE.
So, the mainboard is prepared. The ASUS ROG Strix B550 is already a real eye-catcher! The water block for the CPU is already a real monster. Alphacool actually designed the block for a Threadripper. The block is actually overkill for the Ryzen 7 5800X, but it has an advantage. The cooling block offers a large cooling surface and thus it should accommodate the asymmetrical chip layout. Let’s see what the cooling performance ends up being on paper.
On top is a 360 mm radiator with 30 mm thickness (all copper, of course!), which is equipped with 3x 120 Rise fans (push principle). The Be Quiet! Case is very convenient at the point, because you can remove the mount for the radiator, so mounting is much easier. Likewise, further down the line, you can easily remove the upper radiator and thus better lay the pipes, what to measure, and so on.
The front is also equipped with a 360 mm radiator with a thickness of 30 mm (X-flow – inlet and outlet are opposite each other in an X-shape), equipped with 6x 120 Rise fans in the push-pull principle. You do not have to do so necessarily, but unfortunately it looks much more awesome! GPU and ice ball are now also pre-assembled. I think it is clear by now at the latest that you cannot simply measure the positions of the individual components here. This will be fun! Turn the page…
