Glorious Model O 2 Wireless Mouse Review – Not just a generic China mouse with manufacturer logo!

The practical test is the most important part of a mouse review and is carried out to the usual extent. This consists of a gaming and a productive part, and also includes information about the ergonomics, a sound check and, if it is a wireless mouse like this one, an evaluation of the battery life.

Let’s first start with the haptic impression and ergonomics. The unboxing already showed that the mouse scores with a flawless build. The feel is also in the upper segment considering the very light materials: there are no rattling or creaking noises and everything feels very stable even when pressed harder. the mouse has a length of approx. 126 x 66 x 38mm (length x width x height)

With these dimensions, it fits very well in my hand, all buttons are easy to reach, and the operation is intuitive because of the “standard layout”.

A word about the mouse’s balance beforehand as well. Due to the clever location of the battery directly above the sensor, i.e. very centrally in the mouse, and a generally good weight distribution, the O 2 has an almost perfect balance. If you push the mouse so that it glides over the mouse pad, which is done almost without resistance with the also cleverly positioned gliding feet (100% PTFE), there are no “breakouts” – the mouse glides straight as a die over the mouse pad without swinging out with the front or the rear.

 

Productivity / Paint

My paint test, which is “meaningless” to outsiders, causes discussions every now and then. I once again painted my simple shapes “freehand” in Paint.

Rumor has it that the BAMF 2.0 sensor is a PixArt PAW-3395, which already cut a very good figure in the recently reviewed MSI GM51. The O 2 is a tad lighter than the MSI and has slightly smoother gliding feet, which is why it felt more precise to me. Especially when drawing straight lines, the new Glorious stays on track surprisingly well.

 

Gaming / CS:GO

Here, the Model O 2 also met my expectations and was quite convincing during the usual round of CS:GO.

Fast movements are easily implemented by the mouse, and in conjunction with the light weight and good gliding feet, a few nice kills were achieved. The O 2 also implemented small circular movements with the crosshairs cleanly. So clean that I didn’t miss the 8000Hz sampling rate that is otherwise often classified as missing here. Overall, I really liked the mouse in this tactical shooter and would classify it as top-notch in that regard. I could not determine any delays in 2.4 GHz mode.

 

Soundcheck

Pictures are worth a thousand words, but for a “sound check” a sound recording is somehow even more valuable. Therefore, for those interested, I have again recorded a few clicks and scrolls from this rodent. Once again, the Elgato Wave DX microphone was used as the recording setup on the Elgato Wave XLR interface.

Battery life

Finally, a quick word about the battery life, which Glorious states at 110/210 hours in 2.4GHz/Bluetooth mode – in each case with the lights off. With the backlight on (rainbow mode, 75% brightness), the battery was drained after two days of continuous use (8h of office use and 3-5h of power use while gaming), which corresponds to a battery life of about 25 hours, which was to be expected and is quite acceptable. With deactivated lighting, I assume that the specified 110h will probably be just reached.
