Optics and haptics
The Shark Force II has an interesting shape designed for right-handers. Depending on your taste, you can choose between the version shown here in black, white or grey. Lefties unfortunately go empty-handed, a mirrored version is not available.
On the left side there are two thumb keys, which are assigned to Forward / Backward and cannot be assigned to any other function. This can be circumvented to some extent by using, for example, a “C”. in a game puts the desired action on this key, but does not always work. While I had success with this in CSGO and CoD: Modern Warefare, Battlefield V didn’t accept the buttons.
The front of the mouse is split, so to speak, and the scroll wheel hangs freely between the two mouse buttons. The USB cable is therefore not in the middle of the mouse, but offset to the side. On the back, the palm rest dominates the picture next to the illuminated lettering
However, this is also the first point of criticism: Even if the mouse is satisfactorily manufactured in the overall impression, the embedded rubber strip once around the mouse clearly visibly consists of several parts. Rough edges and mediocre fit are included from the factory.
The first test on the Skiller SGP2 mouse pad was unfortunately sobering: It scratches!
One of the sliding pads did not sit properly in its recess and has the pleasure immediately times properly clouded. However, after pulling it off and repositioning it once, the whole thing was done and the second attempt was much better. Ergonomically, the mouse sits insanely well in the hand with my Palm Grip, which might also be due to the general size. The fingers lie relaxed on the “rests” at the side and also the palm finds large contact.
The audible vibration of the mouse is a bit unpleasant when you put it on a bit faster. This can be dampened with both fingers on the mouse buttons, but a “clattery” feeling remains. Resistance on horizontal and vertical movement is identical, although a little less slippery than I’m used to.
