SWARM software
The SWARM software from Roccat was completely unknown to me until now. Although it is very extensive and powerful, the setup is still relatively manageable at around 150MB. Only the basic software is installed and then, depending on the connected and detected device, the corresponding small package/module is installed. Obviously, RAM and CPU are not too heavily loaded either.
For the purposes of this article, I’ll limit myself to the features of the Kone XP. When selecting the mouse, a “favorite page” is displayed, which you can compile individually and pin the personally most important functions.
The Settings tab mainly contains the functions and controls for the pointer and double-click speed and the gradation for the DPI selection. In the example I have only stored one value, because I rarely use the DPI selection.
The key configuration should be self-explanatory. All keys can be assigned individually, thanks to the Easy-Shift[+] key even twice, which means a total of 29 functions can be assigned. There are virtually no limits to the assignment, from simple forward and backward scrolling in the browser, to system commands such as shutting down Windows, to extensive macros, almost anything is possible.
The lighting settings are extensive. From the rainbow wave to the individual configuration of all eight lighting zones including color changes and effects, just about every wish is fulfilled here as well. Of course, the transparent “shell” shows off the lighting particularly well (see gallery at the bottom of this page).
The advanced settings are primarily related to the sensor.
Of the arbitrary number of profiles that can be created, five can be saved directly on the mouse. Each profile is assigned a color in which the mouse then also briefly lights up after selecting the corresponding profile.
The function of the Marko manager should be sufficiently known, since there are hardly any differences here between the whole configuration programs.
