NVIDIA LDAT coupled to the testbench vs. second (gaming PC)
To see what influence the USB port has on the latency measurements of my articles, I will first present you the comparison. You know my testbench. You’ll have noticed that my gaming PC is now to the right of it. (See picture above page 1) The reason for this is that I can do the measurements with LDAT easier if I run LDAT on a second PC. But this only applies to the LDAT camera! The Logitech G203 Prodigy is always hooked up to the PC where I’m testing. In that case on the testbench! Let’s take a closer look at the MSI MAG X570 ACE.
As you can see, there are 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A installed in the back. Marked in blue, there is the LDAT Logitech mouse. That will never change either! But to measure a difference, there are still the USB ports marked in green (another USB 3.2 Gen 2 and a USB 2.0). Here I placed the LDAT camera in rotation to reveal any influences. So we hold: LDAT measurement technology in test 1 hangs directly on the testbench, where Overwatch is also running on the RX 6700 XT. I measure the system latency and then swap from the USB 3.2 Gen 2 to the USB 2.0 port. I also did the same on my gaming PC. Here’s an MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon installed, then let’s see what the motherboard looks like.
LDAT hung here for comparison once at the USB 3.1 Gen 2 and then at the USB 2.0 port. See green marked! You saw how I measure latency in Overwatch in the videos in the last article. Ok, here’s the link! Let’s see what happens.First LDAT on the testbench (MSI MAG X570 ACE), that means: LDAT software and the game runs on the same system! LDAT is connected to USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A.
Now I’m switching to the USB 2.0 port.
A simplified summary shows the details:
Interesting or not? If you don’t believe it, I can only recommend that you measure it yourself at home! But long story short, now I use my gaming PC as a measuring computer. It’s much more convenient to work with and saves time! LDAT is first plugged into the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type A port.
And now it’s time for the USB 2.0. Don’t forget, we are now using the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon!
Again, I have a better view for you for the details:
What more can I say? Best we summarize this and I’ll sum it up. Turn the page!
