Parts selection
First of all, for the correct classification: All parts were bought privately (even under deliberately tight financial conditions), partly new or as B-goods, but also partly used through various classified ads. As a newcomer to the topic of custom loop and (admittedly previously rather disinterested) to the topic of WaKü parts, I am heilfroh that Alphacool also has a forum and there the user Luckystriker has helped me with great patience and helpfulness with the order list for the external loop. The following parts were already available since the spring at the latest:
- 1 x ALC Icewolf 2 360 for the AMD 6800/6900 XT
- 1 x ALC Polar Bear Aurora 420 Digital RGB
- 1 x Hose extension set with quick coupling
- 1 x ice pump VPP755 with the ice cover D5 and an ice cup D5 (first with 250 mm, but now 150 mm)
I then additionally started the adventure with the following list and was also curious how often I then have to reorder forgotten parts. Thanks to Luckystriker, I didn’t have to reorder anything at all, except that someone in shipping didn’t send me everything that was promised on a B-ware part. However, they then accommodatingly made up for it after I pointed it out. That was on top of it:
- 1 x ALC Hose AlphaTube TPV 12.7/7.6 (3.3 m)
- 2 x ALC HF screw-on grommet TPV – 90° rotatable
- 2 x ALC Apex Liquid ECO 1000 ml clear
- 1 x ALC NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 1260 mm SuperNova Radiator
- 1 x ALC Universal feet for radiators
- 2 x ALC 4Pin PWM extension – 90 cm
- 2 x ALC 4Pin Molex power extension – 90 cm
- 2 x ALC icicle HF quick coupling set G3/8 IT with reducer G1/4
- 1 x ALC HF screw-on grommet TPV – 12.7/7.6 mm straight – 6 pcs. kit
- 1 x Aquacomputer SPLITTY9 ACTIVE
I had roughly structured the following subtasks in front of me:
- Removal of all parts of the existing internal loop and their cleaning including the new parts
- Conversion to the new loop with the correct estimation of internal hose lengths in terms of reuse
- Leak test of the new complete loop in the dismantled state, installation and repeated leak test
