Conclusion
At the risk that the lack of enthusiasm for the touted and, in my opinion, rather disappointing Environment Noise Cancelling might have affected the general mood of this article too much, I would like to conclude with an objective and also conciliatory summary. Considered soberly and on its own, the GH40 ENC is a rock-solid gaming headset, which can even show quite a decent price-performance ratio for the expected euro price. The construction is robust, the overall sound is acceptable, and the microphone is still justifiable considering the price range.
However, considering that the core feature of the product practically doesn’t work (or at least “not well”), I don’t really see a unique selling point in the GH40 ENC that could set it apart from the similarly priced Sharkoon SGH50 or other candidates in this price range, for example. It is comfortable and fits easily even on large heads, but I simply lack enthusiasm for this product for an explicit buy recommendation or an award. It is certainly worth a look for fans of the brand or for bargain hunters (if it is reduced), but otherwise it is somewhat lost in the masses without being bad.
The headset was provided by MSI for this test. The only condition was the compliance with the lock period, no influence or compensation took place.
