Software
The Nahimic software simply installed itself when I plugged the GH40 ENC into the USB port without asking. I find that a bit cheeky, but since the program gets by with only a few MB in size and is generally not very intrusive, let’s not be so. To test the software features I would have had to install it anyway.
The software is quite clearly laid out and is divided into the three items “Audio” for the sound settings, “Microphone” for the language settings and “Settings” for the general software settings, release notes, etc.
In the headphone section, you can configure four profiles (music, movies, communication and games) differently from each other and switch them if necessary. The various effects (such as boosting bass and treble) can also be set here.
For gaming (or competitive shooters) the 7.1 mode turned out to be advantageous for locating opponents, in all other situations this reverb effect once again turned out to be useless.
I already demonstrated the microphone settings and their effects on the last page by means of a voice recording, and everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is something for them or not.
