Summary and conclusion
The increase in performance of the Mini-PCs with an Intel N95, N97 or N100 processor is consistently measurable, even if it is more in the single-digit percentage range. But at least Intel specifies this CPU with a 300Mhz higher turbo clock at the same low TDP and also installs 32 EUs instead of 24 EUs in the graphics unit. Click here for our big overall comparison:

Unfortunately, as expected, the small screen on the front turned out to be more of a gimmick. On the one hand, the display can only show the power consumption of the processor and not the entire computer, and on the other, it lacks meaningful integration into Windows. Receiving desktop notifications via the display, for example when there is a new e-mail in Outlook, would have been a useful feature.
Displaying the time remains the best function for me. Apart from that, the design of this mini PC is not bad at all, with more connection options in the slim housing than you will find in many notebooks. I would also like to emphasize the tool-free access to RAM and both M.2 slots, as well as the magnetic stand.
If you stand the MiniXTec M1 upright, only the placement of all USB ports on the top could be a little impractical in combination with wired peripherals, at least one port on the back would certainly not be wrong.
With the code “MINIXTECM1” you can get a 20$ discount from the retailer. This is not a referral link, but I do not accept any commissions offered. Neither I nor IgorsLab earn any money from the use of the voucher code.
At the time of publication, we end up with a final price of 279.99$ or 258.98€ including shipping. However, there are also potential import fees and customs duties that could push the price up again. Even though we have a really stylish and compact system here, the pricing is rather unattractive in view of significantly cheaper models with an N100. After all, this mini PC is also available with the Intel N100 and even as a significantly cheaper barebone.
The test sample was provided by MiniXPC without obligation. There was and is no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish.
