There are certainly many stories that life writes. One of them: My wife approached me a few days ago with the wish that she would like to have a Gameboy Advance again. Of course, I am immediately on fire with such projects, because I myself love the past gaming culture. Initially, the original case was supposed to become Frankenstein’s portable monster with new hardware, but the government decided to go with a modern, finished product. So a Gameforce handheld had to be purchased. Looking for a reliable and reputable store on the Internet, which may even deliver until Christmas Eve, I quickly found: at Dragonx Shop. Of course, a short check of the imprint is always part of the seriousness check. That was the moment I fell off my chair. It feels like a Bavarian is always hundreds of kilometers away from everything cool, nerdy and progressive, but not in this case!

The store is just eight kilometers from my home and carries pretty much everything the retro heart desires and much more! Immediately I took the smartphone in hand and asked if I could combine the useful with the pleasant and also an article with an insight behind the scenes and the interesting business. You know that Igor likes such pick-up stories because they are spontaneous. Unexpected often comes and also the community should be just right, because we raffle a real retro controller in the forum! There is then more on the last page.

The owner, Michael Mrozek on the other end of the line was friendly, approachable and even invited me in. That was the moment when I knew: I’m not alone in the Audi city as a nerd! What a relief! But who is Michael? Michael Mrozek is a man in his mid-forties, with whom I knew immediately in the first seconds of getting to know each other that we had something in common: the fire for our own projects! As an octopus who moves somewhere between marketing, software, hardware and sales, I was immediately hooked as a similarly inclined frequent visitor! As a child, he already disassembled everything that had to do with technology.
This honest interest then grew further in the era of Amiga and C64, so that he discovered programming for himself as well. Whenever there was hardware to replace on friends’ or acquaintances’ computers, he was the first to immediately jump into the breach of the circuit boards and then assemble working systems for himself afterwards. He finished his school career with a high school diploma, but then left out his studies, which is all the more impressive when I write later what this man is capable of achieving. A normal apprenticeship as a media designer was the next stop in his career and to this day he takes on film and television productions. However, his great passion and love seems to be retro hardware and retro culture as well, because that’s the only way to explain that as a small, unrivaled online store he carries everything that the nostalgic heart desires.
