Functionality and typing feel
Various functions can be called up via key combinations in the background without any software, very commendable.
In contrast to what you can see here in the picture, the keycaps don’t have a second label, though. So you have to know by heart which key combination does what. Visually nicer, of course, but needs some time to get used to.
By the way, you can adjust the angle of the keyboard via the different sized feet on the bottom.
If you want to use the optionally available palm rest, there are a few steps to follow. First, you have to remove the lower rubber feet so that you can access the placeholders. You simply take them out and replace them with the parts with integrated magnets.
My version here has Kailh Red switches, the “pudding” keycaps are PBT double-shot. A version with Kailh is also offered in German key layout.
Unfortunately, the switches feel a bit scratchy, which is especially noticeable during longer typing intervals. I would even claim that you can hear it out even in the following sound samples without having your fingers on the keyboard yourself. A bit of lubing could certainly help, but the buyers of a “finished” keyboard in the mid-price segment are unlikely to do that.
Soundcheck
For the recording, the keyboard stood on a large fabric mouse pad, was angled and I subsequently increased the volume by 10 dB.
Normal typing:
5x spacebar, 5x enter, 5x backspace:
Single key (Escape):
