Optics and haptics
Finally unpacked, a few special features are immediately noticeable, starting with the radiator. I have not yet seen an elevation on the side where the hoses go towards the pump.
But the fans are not up to standard either, instead of a well known 4-pin PWM connector EK relies on something more reminiscent of an 8-pin PCIe power supply for the graphics card here.
Thanks to the extremely good transport protection, the radiator survived the journey to me without any noticeable damage.
And although a tube of thermal paste is included, a layer has also already been applied to the copper coldplate from the factory.
In the center, however, part of the cover seems to have had contact with the thermal paste despite all the padding.
Overall, the EK Nucleus makes a really high-quality impression so far, and the milled silver corners look almost classy in my opinion. I personally like it very much. By the way, the cover of the pump is held magnetically and can be rotated by in 90° steps if necessary. But in the end, the performance has to be right as well, so we’ll continue with that on the next page.
