Conclusion
Since we don’t have to go into the software for the non-RGB version of the case, we’ll get straight to the conclusion. The Corsair 2000D Airflow could shine in the test with excellent heat dissipation and generous space. The 3070 Ti used for the test with a TGP of about 300W only got marginally warmer in the approximately 24 liter ITX case than in the gigantic 7000D full tower and the 30 MHz lost as a result are not even measurable. Therefore, I can only praise the thermal behavior.
As far as the general workmanship, concept and space are concerned, I can’t report anything negative either. Everything is cleanly manufactured and looks stable, all openings are equipped with dust filters and the installation is also very easy thanks to the intelligent layout – however, there is not much room for cable management in the 2000D.
Award – Performance Booster
What I didn’t like at all is the positioning of the mainboard I/O. To insert the cables of keyboard, mouse, monitor etc. through the small opening and to break your fingers when plugging in the connectors is an absolute disaster. The thick display port cable is so kinked that I have to fear a short lifespan. If you think you can build a portable computer for LAN parties on the basis of the 2000D, I have to disappoint you at this point at the latest. Personally, I would rather lug the big 7000D with custom loop up to the third floor than break my fingers (or cables) connecting peripherals on every LAN. On the other hand, for a small desk or generally cramped space where the case remains stationary and doesn’t need to be portable, the 2000D is definitely a good choice.
The price of €124.90 is a bit of a mouthful, because apart from the fact that the case is made of much less material than a regular mid-tower and doesn’t have a glass panel, the non-RGB version doesn’t even come with pre-installed fans. It seems almost grotesque that the even more expensive RGB version with a price of 169.90€ almost has a more attractive price-performance ratio thanks to the included RGB fans and controller.
The case was provided by Corsair for this review. The only condition was compliance with the lock period, no influence or compensation took place.
